Caprine Sales is a marketing solution providing an efficient way to market and find goats. We’re all about people finding exactly what goats they’re looking for through the use of hyper-specific search terms in our listings.
Origin Story
Where we started:
I started considering this project in early 2024 as a branch off idea from Dairy Goat Pro.
I was hoping for the original idea to take off; to adapt and meet the needs because we’ve needed this option for awhile now, especially after the FB fiasco towards the industry. Unfortunately, the SSL failing was the cue to start taking this project more seriously. Up until that point the only real thought this idea had been given was a domain name.
With my close to a decade of experience making static websites for my farm and other business/freelance ventures, particularly in WordPress, I knew options existed but didn’t know what would truly work for anything.
Today’s site is a culmination of me spending almost two years testing various options behind the scenes and finding the supporting code and infrastructure that would meet the needs of the site while keeping in mind the needs of this industry and it’s People. Most of it ended up costing months of time and hitting a dead end.
Where we are today:
Today, the site offers everything and then some of what I set out to accomplish. The main goal was and always will be a marketing solution that is safe to list on without risking yours or someone else’s social media account. The hyper-specific search terms are an added bonus with the capabilities I found behind the scenes and prevent the usual “Feature Listings” pay to play dynamics most listing sites offer. The secondary sites are about helping people find a farm’s online presence and supporting goat industry adjacent businesses.
All information being posted on this site is manually approved on the back-end. While it’s still possible for scammers to try and successfully post, the barriers are high and ever-evolving.
Where we are going:
We are headed where the US goat industry answers. The site has a lot of potential if breeders support it in it’s current phase and offer feedback to make it better. The bones are good but it needs People to really mean anything.

All of the creators that have contributed to the WordPress ecosystem and either kept it hyper specific or left just enough ambiguity in the final use of the product to make it work for this site. The work of hundreds, if not thousands, of People are why this site works and is here today.

As a goat breeder over the last decade, I’ve watched as goats were harder to find than a needle in a hay stack to the top social media platform of the mid-2010’s becoming the place to be to find quality goats and connect with other breeders only for that to shift to an outright hostile space dismantling groups without warning, shuttering pages, and banning individuals. The chaos let in scammers that still hold rank today almost as if the platform is actively using them to punish. The direct hostility has waned due, at least in part, to everyone scattering and code talking. There is no real way to quantify what we’ve lost and are at risk of losing by continuing to depend on the methods that once served us well but clearly are not rooting for us to succeed.
